The standard we build to

Covenant Hospice Care aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA across this website. That is the benchmark most healthcare organizations work to, and we treat it as the floor rather than the goal.

What that means on this site

• Body text is set at 18 pixels or larger, because most of the people who read these pages are over 50.
• Text and background colors are tested to a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1.
• Every link, button, and form field can be reached and used with a keyboard, and shows a visible outline when it has focus.
• Every form field has a label a screen reader will announce.
• No information is delivered only as text inside an image.
• Motion and crossfades stop for anyone whose device asks for reduced motion.
• Pages use real headings and landmarks, so a screen reader can skip straight to the content.

Where we still fall short

Accessibility is never finished. Some documents we publish come from outside sources and may not yet be tagged correctly, and a few tools embedded on this site are not fully under our control. When we find a barrier we fix it. When we cannot fix it quickly, we get you the same information another way.
